Responsible for the safety of the county, the Regional Dispatch Center maintains a 24x7 call center for 911 emergencies, medical, sheriff, police, fire and general dispatch in the area. Hardware in place was in dire need of replacement and in imminent danger of failure. The main server was running Windows 2000, and had been in place for several years in a back room corner on the floor.
